You want to learn to code.
You want your first coding job.

Yay! I totally get the appeal. 🙂

Apart from being a lot of fun, and a great challenge, coding jobs often start at much higher salaries than you may be earning now.

This career change can vastly improve your life, and give you opportunities and professional value you never imagined.

So, what is it going to take?

Well, in 2019, it’s totally possible to teach yourself to code. That’s right—no expensive bootcamps, or 4-year Computer Science degrees! You can literally learn to code for free.

Gone are the days where you needed to attend a university and get an expensive diploma in order to secure a career in programming! This is because the level of education offered online is far more thorough and effective than it’s ever been.

If you want a job, you’ll need job-ready skills, right? You want to be able to sit down at your first job, or with your first freelancing client, and feel confident that your skills are worth the money they’re paying you.

But even then, you'll have lots of questions, like:

  • What exactly do you need to learn in order to get your first job?
  • How and where can you find what you need online?
  • Which coding website is best for you to learn from?
  • How can you learn as much as a 4-year Computer Science student online?
  • What if you haven't been in a learning-focused environment in years?
  • What if you have no idea what teaching yourself entails? (most people don't!)
  • How can you learn to code while working a full-time job, or caring for kids?
  • How can you get a job as quickly as possible, so there are minimal gaps in your income?
  • What should your first job even look like?
  • What will you do there?

You’re going to need confidence in order to get your first job—employers can sniff out lack of/faked confidence like you wouldn’t believe!

To seek out the answers to each of these questions would take up a lot of time. I know this, because I spent months just trying to work out the logistics of each.

Once I finally figured it all out, it was a stressful race to start building the skills. It didn’t need to be stressful. My experience learning to code should have been more relaxed.

But I’ve since learned why it was so hard, and how to avoid those difficulties—and now I want to teach you. And the lessons I learned, I turned into an online course called Newbie Coder Career Change School.
